The Springville Museum of Art is a key promoter and contributor to the arts in Utah. As Utah’s first museum for the visual arts, it has served quality cultural and educational opportunities to residents and visitors of Utah for nearly 100 years.
Dedicated as a “Sanctuary of Beauty and a Temple of Contemplation” by David O. McKay, the Museum houses over 2,000 works; 1,500 of which are Utah art. The impressive collection of 150 years of Utah fine art, twentieth century Russian and Soviet Socialist Realism, American Realist art, and 15 exhibitions per year. The beautiful Spanish Colonial style structure was built in 1937.
The Museum seeks to fulfill its
mission as expressed by our founders, by refining minds and building character through fine art. The
History of the Museum began in 1903, with the donation of art work to Springville High School by artist founders Cyrus E. Dallin and John Hafen. The completion of the new George S. and Delores Dore Eccles Wing in 2004, and the Sam & Diane Stewart Sculpture Garden in 2009 doubled the size of the Museum to 45,000 square feet and created 14 new exhibition galleries, making a total of 29 galleries. The research
Library is a leading educational resource on Utah art. As official State Wide Art Partnership (SWAP) headquarters, the Museum is also home for visual art educational outreach programs for the schools of Utah.
A variety of exhibitions, concerts, programs and special events are offered throughout the year. Our dedicated
Staff and Volunteers enable us to serve nearly 90,000 visitors onsite, and 35,000 off-site. Become involved with the Museum through our
