Sunday Concert Series: The Benge Family Singers



 
Join us for an evening of music in the Museum's beautiful Grand Gallery with our Sunday Concert Series. The Museum is open every Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, with the free Concert Series beginning at 5:00 pm on select Sundays every month. Please call for upcoming dates (489-2727). The Museum hosts these performances through the City of Springville.

Sunday, February 19, 2012, 5:00 pm: The Benge Family Singers
A remarkable group of vocalists and musicians, this family has an amazing array of talent. From grandparents to grandchildren, uncles, aunts and cousins, this family performs all kinds of genres and has a perfect harmony of voices. They create their own arrangements of popular favorites which convey their deep feelings for the subjects of music they sing. Many members of this family have performed with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Elijah Choir, and various orchestras and many have won awards and scholarships for their talents.

Sunday, March 18, 2012 American Irish Duo
The American Irish Duo plays traditional Irish music with passion for the pub music of the Irish countryside.  They perform throughout the West on hammered dulcimer and guitar.  For the concert series, they provide a lively mixture of jigs, reels, strathspays, and traditional Irish songs.  The audience will feel like dancing in the aisles!

Sunday, April 15, 2012 UVU Chamber Choir
The Chamber Choir is a small choir of select voices which performs music in many genres and from many style periods.  The choir's motto, "One Heart, One Voice," exemplifies the choral blend and unity they strive to attain.  The chamber choir is often asked to perform for various functions on the UVU campus and in the community.

Sunday, May 20, 2012 Cinnamon Creek Folk Singers
The Cinnamon Creek Fold Singers are a group of twelve women from Northern Utah who for nineteen years have arranged, performed, and shared tehir lover for traditional Western Pioneer, Railroad, and American folk songs.  The group was created to preserve and promote the national and regional folk music heritage.  Best knows for their vocal harmony, the Cinnamon Creek Folk Singers use authentic and original arrangements, including "shape note" songs, to celebrate the folk writing and performance process.
