Children's Art Festival

Face Painting, Bookmaking, Storytelling and More…
On Friday, June 13, 2008, the Springville Museum of Art held the Annual Children’s Art Festival as part of Springville Art City Days 2008. Roughly 2,500 people attended the event which ran from 10 am-2 pm on the Museum grounds.
Parents and children spent the day visiting the booths creating art, listening to great entertainment, and eating fabulous food. Booths included bead bracelets, blue china plates, bookmaking, clay, face painting, finger print art, finger puppets, impressionism, leather stamping, mural, paper cup puppets, paper lizards, paper sculpture, printmaking, puppets on a stick, sidewalk chalk, storytelling, sun catchers, and three-part puzzles. The booths were staffed by BYU Students, SMA Interns, Junior Art Guild members and many other great volunteers.
Stacey Mason of Springville said of the Art Festival, “It’s a fun activity for the kids.” This was Mason’s second year attending with her family.  Another Springville resident said of her twenty something years attending, “[Its] Tradition – it’s what you do during Art City Days.”
Entertainment was provided by Blue Aces, Art City Music, Joe Flores, Devin Knight, and Wasatch Eagles.
A huge thanks goes to the Kiwanis Club of Springville, the Springville Arts Commission, Little Giant Ladder Systems, Trafalga Family Fun Center, Fat Cats, University Mall Cinema, Allen’s Super Save Market, Hale Centre Theatre, Classic Fun Center, Icy Peaks, Miracle Bowl, McDonald’s, Reams, Scera Center for the Arts, The Quarry, Laser Assault, Red Lobster, Mity-Lite, and Beck Leather & Crafts.
